This guy is my new hero.

You MUST watch this video- it is slow to start- but this guy is AWESOME. My roommate and I are planning a full re-enactment at the end of the school year party. Now we just need to survive finals so that we can get our groove on.

Chipotle Knows What Is Up

Have ya'll seen this great Chipotle commercial? I love Willie Nelson, I love Chipotle, and I feel neutral about Coldplay. Why was this not one of the superbowl commercials?

PostSecret

I don't know if I am even allowed to do this, but I wanted to share some of my favorite secrets from the postsecret website, and I could not find any rules on whether I was allowed to repost them. We don't have many followers so I suppose this would be ok.

Post secret is: "An ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. PostSecret, 13345 Copper Ridge Road, Germantown, MD 20874, USA"

Every Sunday Frank posts anonymous secrets from around the country/globe for all his followers to see. If you don't follow the blog already, I would start. Check it: http://www.postsecret.com/

Also, he has 4 books out that include secrets from over the years, and I would highly recommend those as well, I have 3 of the 4, and I plan to get the newest one sometime in the near future. Anyways, enough of my rambling and lets get to the best secrets.

I know that was a lot, but I just love the whole concept so much! Happy hump day. I advise everyone to send a secret in, why not?

Stop-Motion is Awesome

My sister was one of the first people to introduce me to stop-motion video when she did an awesome dog-sledding video which actually won an award (unfortunately I can't remember the title right now). She is very artistic, especially with video and photography, and I hope to post some of her projects in the near future.

Recently my friend Veena showed me this stop action video which I thought was very well done and thoughtful. The basic premise is that......

A lonely desk toy longs for escape from the dark confines of the office, so he takes a cross country road trip to the Pacific Coast in the only way he can – using a toy car and Google Maps Street View. Check it.

It's Wednesday, which in the world of law school means it is basically Friday (not because I have nothing to do, but because if you aren't hopeful for the weekend, you might not make it).

Flat Tire

Last night on my way home I managed to get a flat tire.... fortunately it was in my driveway so I was able to simply park, stare at it for a minute, and go upstairs to my comfy bed to be dealt with in the morning.

This morning I woke up....and remembered I needed to change my tire. Don't get me wrong, I should know how, my dad has taught me numerous times, and decides to remind me every time I leave on a long trip, just in case, but it is not the happiest way to start the day. So, I put on some warm work clothes, informed my roommate I would be doing so (just in case....she was shocked that I would even try this on my own), and went out to begin the process. I nearly had no assistance, but I had to call my dad just to ask how essential it was for me to block the opposite tire (I have no wood, bricks, or any blocking mechanisms here ar school), and we decided I would be ok.

I could go on about the process, but instead I decided to document this proud moment in my life.

The Flat

Up on the scissor jack

No tire!

All finished!

As you can see I was very proud of myself at the end (poor self-portrait attempt). What a great way to start the day! (And I'm not even being sarcastic). Now I can check changing a tire off of the things I want to do myself, I'm sure there are a lot of men, or I suppose boys, who can't even do that!

My hands are still pretty grimy from the activity, even though I have washed them 4 times. Tonight I am going to a dressy affair, what a contrast of activities.....

Weekend

Happy Friday! Although Thursday is my favorite day of the week, I have no complaints about a relaxed friday, and I was finished with class at 10 this morning! Bonus. I don't have many plans for the weekend, but hopefully I will get to make these.
I haven't had much time to cook recently, but I think this weekend could be the time. Bacon is just awesome. I know that word is overused, but that is the only way to describe it. Here is the recipe I am going to use.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 8 bacon strips, partially cooked
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped shallot
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Blanch green beans in salted boiling water, until tender yet still crisp. Cool beans under running water. Wrap about 15 beans in each strip of bacon and secure with a wooden toothpick.
  3. Place on a foil-covered baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until bacon is done.
  4. In a skillet, sauté shallot in butter until tender. Add vinegar, sugar, and salt; heat through.
  5. Remove bundles to a serving bowl or platter; pour sauce over and serve immediately.

Emily and I had a grand plan to make some BLTs using this method over winter break, but never got around to it.

Maybe I'll try that this weekend as well. Oh! (Sorry for the flow of thoughts I am putting into this blog post) BUT, have you ever heard of putting peanut butter on a BLT? Someone told me this was their favorite recently and I think it is worth a shot. What's not to like? I'll get back to you on whether it is any good.

Proposals

Ok, if you don't like reading about other people's weddings, then this post is not for you. Perhaps you have already seen this video, but it is the cutest proposal video I have ever seen (and I have probably/definitely seen more than the average person). Also, I happen to be a sucker for Love Actually, classic.

Did you cry a little? Or maybe it is just me.

Also, shout out to A and E, where you at? I thought 2012 was the year of blog posts, and so far it is all me.
